A group of teens who bully classmates for points face a masked killer settling old scores.
Five friends have a game: prank a classmate, score the cruelty out of ten, keep a running tally on a poster board. It’s been going on since eighth grade. Then one night, a new girl named Bianca dies during a sleepover after drinking something laced with an unknown substance and Detective Shelley is left telling the family why their daughter isn’t coming home.
Four years later, the same group reunites, older but no less reckless. And someone remembers everything. What starts as another round of harmless-seeming mischief spirals into a night of stalking phone calls, bloody boxes left on doorsteps, and friends turning up dead one by one. TJ, Walter, Brucie, and Monica are forced to reckon with a truth they’ve spent years avoiding: they didn’t just watch the cruelty happen, they let it happen, and somebody kept score right alongside them.
The film’s tension comes from its structure; police interrogation scenes intercut with flashbacks to the group’s escalating pranks, so the audience pieces together the body count of humiliation long before the literal one starts. TJ’s insistence that “it was just a prank” becomes the film’s most damning line, repeated by nearly every character right up until it isn’t enough to save them.
By the time the killer’s identity and motive surface, tied back to that first night with Bianca, Karma has made its thesis clear: cruelty dressed up as a joke still leaves victims, and it keeps a longer memory than any of them expected.
